Louisa Northcote
Changemaker Louisa Northcote, best known for her unwavering commitment to her skin positive movement #freethepimple, is a ‘Real Skin’ advocate, forward thinker and fashion creative.
A one-time model, modelling was a big part of Lou’s life, having started when she was just 10-years-old. As she grew into puberty, she began to suffer from acne breakouts and as a result her career as a model became strained. In 2017 she coined the hashtag #freethepimple and cultivated a global community of likeminded individuals bringing awareness of others living with skin conditions, by sharing skin-positive selfies.
Lou continues to defy all the odds of the modelling industry, having featured in Love Magazine, shot by Davids Simms and becoming the first model with acne to star in an un-retouched beauty editorial for Boots Health and Wellness Magazine. She has also appeared in digital articles including her documentary with i-D, Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Teen Vogue, Women’s Health, Sheer Luxe and more. Lou’s brand alignments include global names such as: L’Oreal, Shiseido, La Roche Posay, Murad to name a few.
Lou continues to break the conventional boundaries of the modelling industry by pushing to see people with real skin in print magazines, appearing on billboards and featured in campaigns.
